How the process works

A clearer project. A more useful first conversation.

Here is what happens when you ask ServiceTrust to help document a home improvement project.

The homeowner process

Four steps, clearly explained

01

One conversation, not a flood of calls

Tell an advisor what you want to accomplish, where the property is, and which decisions are still open.

02

A visit that turns ideas into a brief

When appropriate, an advisor meets you on-site and documents goals, preferences, photos and basic details useful to prospective contractors.

03

A brief you can keep and reuse

You receive a portable summary of your request. You may share it with ServiceTrust-connected businesses or other contractors.

04

The right trades take it from there

Contractors independently inspect as needed, finalize technical scope, quote the work, agree on terms and perform the job.

A document you can reuse

What goes into your project brief?

Your brief captures the information that helps contractors understand what you have in mind.

  • Goals and preferred outcome
  • Photos of relevant areas
  • Basic dimensions, when appropriate
  • Material and finish preferences
  • Timing and access notes
  • Questions to resolve before quoting

It's yours to keep. Share the same brief with one contractor or several, whether or not they participate in ServiceTrust.

The brief supports communication. It does not replace a contractor's inspection, technical evaluation, or estimate.

Common questions

Questions before you get started

Does ServiceTrust provide the remodeling estimate?

No. A contractor who may perform the job independently determines feasibility, scope, price and contract terms.

Must I hire a contractor introduced by ServiceTrust?

No. You may use the project brief with other service providers.

Is the on-site visit free?

Pricing and whether a visit fee applies will be explained before you commit. The pilot fee structure has not been finalized.

Does ServiceTrust supervise the project?

The current service is project documentation and introductions, not construction management or technical inspection. Any expanded engagement would require a separate agreement.

Get the project clearer before the quotes begin.

Tell ServiceTrust what you’re planning. We’ll discuss whether a documentation visit is a fit.
